Atom vs Celeron

As you might have heard, the new Atom processor coming out by Intel is said to be featured in many devices needing low power, such as UMPCs, handheld mobile phones or other smaller devices. The atom is advertised as a low power using processor. In devices such as the EEE PC, there is debate of the older model’s 900mhz Celeron processor vs the 1.6ghz Atom processor. The Celeron is more powerful in terms of raw power, but the Atom is suppose to be more energy efficient. In the EEE, it is designed for a secondary subnotebook, where you would not need such powers and benefit from the Atom’s lower power usage in order to maximize battery life…but by how much?
